Management Development for Financial Services

Overall, I cannot speak highly enough about my relationship and interactions with Cegos!  They are outstanding and their programming consistently received the highest rated feedback of any development initiatives conducted by the organization over the three years I was involved in managing the learning and development space for our business.

Business need

A global financial services company approached Cegos over 10 years ago to provide the right level of support for their new managers. Their sponsors were looking for a programme to suit both new people managers and existing people managers to enhance their skills, develop new techniques and styles, and build a consistent approach that met with the company’s ethos and values.

Solution

Cegos’ two-day Management Essentials course was designed for the client to provide all who took part with a thorough understanding of what it means to be a people manager.  The management development for financial services programme covered core managerial skills such as coaching, giving feedback, managing performance, managing the motivation of both individuals and teams, and having difficult conversations. By building in market-specific scenarios and a work-based case study, managers practised applying tried-and-tested techniques to real life situations, but in a safe and supportive environment.

Cegos has worked flexibly and responsively with the client over a long period of time – refreshing the content and business simulation to reflect organisational changes due to the shifting financial and economic landscape. This has ensured the most appropriate training is delivered within a recognisable context for the target audience, and in a timely and cost-effective way.

Benefits

Developing such a long-term relationship with a client demonstrates loyalty on both sides, and is also testament to the effectiveness of the training provided. Management Essentials still gives the company’s people managers the tools they need to go straight back into the workplace with the competence and confidence to implement what they have learned.

Feedback from delegates has remained consistently high, with 100% rating it as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’. 100% also said they were either very likely or likely to recommend the course to others.

Management Essentials delegate comments included:  “Many of the lessons learned are instant take-aways, which you can bring back to the workplace and have immediate impact.”

“The course had the right balance between theory, examples and exercises which really helped to get you thinking.”
